Make the Fan Fun

Well I have always been a mama who likes to take lemons and make lemonade.  Well, not literally (although sometimes literally) … but I mean when faced with inconvenience, bad news or something unpleasant … I use my spin techniques to at least make the moments manageable.

I’ve already spoken of the bamboozle parade that is happening in my so-called life.  In the midst of trying to move, and changing schools, and attending college, and selling the house … we took some crazy hits.  One of them was a dog that went nuts and damaged the carpet in my daughter’s room.  Isn’t that lovely when you’re trying to show a house?  Then the air conditioner died.  Ding dong dead.  So it got hot.  Really hot.  Another lovely thing to happen when trying to ‘show’ a house. So we got fans.  Some of us old enough probably remember the use of box fans and such.  Heck, the house I grew up in did not even have central air conditioning, just a window unit in the front room.

Now amidst the moaning and groaning of irritable children who did not appreciate our hotbox called a house .. I introduced them to the marvel of speaking into the fan.  Come on kids, let’s make funny voices.   Miraculously – the moods were elevated.

So if life hands you lemons, you make lemonade.  If your A/C goes on strike … make the fan fun.

  1. Oh my goodness! I remember doing that when I was a kid! (although our house did have AC, so I’m trying to remember where I learned it……..)
