Gratitude Challenge: Are you in?
You Will Need:
- A Jar – It doesn’t matter what kind of jar. Recycled jelly jar, mason jar, etc.
- Some Paper – you can pick something colorful or you can rip out some white lined paper from a notebook, or you can write on the back of junk mail, it doesn’t matter.
- A Pen/pencil/marker that you can easily find.
What You Will Do:
Each day, starting on January 1, 2015, think of things that made you happy. This can include goals, dreams and desires. You can focus on anything as long as it makes you think of happiness! If you want to put other things in the jar, like a lucky token, ticket stub from a trip you loved or a note from a loved one, go ahead. It’s your jar and your fulfillment. You can add more than one things a day.
Write it Down!
There are no set “rules”, modify this as it works best for your world. So throw out your thoughts about prayers, good luck, well wishes and/or faith-based understandings of happiness. Maybe it’s a question or prayer request. Whatever you choose to write; just make sure it makes you think of happiness, or brings joy.
You will do this for one full year. Then on New Year’s Eve (12/31/15) – – you will celebrate all of the things you wrote about.
