Why Change?

HawaiiPeaceofMind

Lord knows I try to mind my own business.  Sometimes; though, that is tough.  Especially when people share their business with you … as well as their many woes.  Or their excuses. Or their challenges.  Folks come to me all of the time asking for my help, my advice, wanting to change.

Meanwhile; I think in my many dealings with the human race and their various situations regarding health and fitness; I have found the following to be true.

Most people only change due to one of these three scenarios:

  1. They hurt enough that they must.
  2. They learn enough that they WANT to change.
  3. They receive enough support that they are ABLE to change.

Often; unless one of these things happens, people keep doing what they’re doing, even if it is unhealthy, because it SEEMS easier; as in the path of least resistance so to speak. Even more often, people require all three scenarios in order to manage change.

What was it for you? Or are you still waiting for something to happen?

As always, make champion choices,
The Healthy Habit Lady

Here's to changing whatever it is you need changing ...

  2. I would say all 3. It hurt emotionally when I could not do things with my kids in the past because I was too tired from getting too big, not eating right, etc. That is when I started to learn more about food, ingredients, etc., and I have lots of supportive people who are helping me change. And of course, my faith and love for God made me realize He gave me the gifts of life, children, marriage, etc. and now I need to show thanks by taking care of those gifts. Not sure if that all makes sense.
