What Shocks You?

What shocks you?

       What shocks you?

What shocks the heck out of you?  Who shocks the heck out of you?  When was the last time that you shocked the heck out of yourself?  I mean, seriously .. when was the last time you amazed your own self … either in a good way … or maybe not.  Man oh man, I can’t believe I inhaled a whole bag of chips?  Or … man oh man, I can’t believe I finished that 5K without puking.

What makes you hesitate?  Is it fear?  What is scaring you?  Are you afraid of success?  Or; are you afraid of failure? Are you afraid of looking like an idiot?  Maybe you’re afraid of pain.  It doesn’t matter.  What matters is that you figure it out. Information is half the battle.  Realizations are priceless.

Yesterday my 10 year old son was reading a book and asked me what the word ‘rut’ means.  I had to think for a minute on a way to explain that.  You; however, probably already know what it means.  You’ve probably been there.  Heck, I think we all have.  What rut is bogging you down?  Where are you stuck?  What holds you back?  What are you wanting to accomplish?  If you don’t know the answers to those questions … well .. um … figure that mess out.

Do you need to dig deep?  Do you need support?  Do you need a road map to help you achieve your goals? You can read motivational blogs and get your fire going … but you will need to keep that baby lit yourself.  Get yourself some direction, and start small if necessary.

If I left Texas with the intent of driving to Pennsylvania … I would enlist the magic of GPS, or even a map.  Yes, I’m old enough I can actually read folded up paper maps.  I would know how much money was needed for fuel, estimate the length of time based on things like speed limit, lodging, pit stops, etc.  Basically, I’d make a plan.  Otherwise, I might end up in Canada or California.  And while that might be fun, it would not have been the goal.  So set some goals, then make plans.  Answer those nagging questions that you need to answer.

Then go shock the hell out of yourself.  I’ll be here, waiting …

As always, make champion choices,
