So I did a social media experiment and the responses were quite overwhelming. I often post crazy, random or simply opinion type questions as my Facebook Status, to see who says what. It is really interesting to me when I receive a huge array of answers. One time I asked if people poop in public, another time I asked if you get up to pee in the night, do you wash your hands. Things like that. Well, a simple question asking for folks’ favorite classic movies went wild. Of course everyone’s definition of ‘classic’ is different, but that is part of what made it is engaging. I don’t often report the findings of my social media status questions, but today I shall. I think it make a great reference if you’re ever looking for a good Netflix flick or such.
So here ya go, you’re welcome !
Honorable mentions: Suggestions included any movies with Shirley Temple, Elvis or Mothra movies. Another friend suggested The Road movies with Bing Crosby, Dorothy Lamour and Bob Hope. Also worthy of mention are the Brat Pack movies, or the Rat Pack movies … which are two very different groups.
Edit: A few more comments came in after the blog post was written. Movie titles mentioned, in no particular order, were: The Carpet Baggers, Pretty Woman, Milk Money, When a Man Loves a Woman, Steel Magnolias, Face/Off, Con Air and Tombstone.
So what movies did we miss? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
As always, make champion choices,
The Healthy Habit Lady
How did I miss this survey? I will say that I don’t consider most of these “classics”, although I love Dirty Dancing and Footloose (dancing movies). Neither of those do I consider a classic. Gone with the wind I finally saw a couple of years ago and quite frankly, my dear, I want my 3 hours back! But my favorite movie of all time is “The Blind Side”. Also not a classic, but does it ever make me feel warm and fuzzy inside!

Quiet man posted twice! But that’s OK! How about the any of the Sherlock Holms films like Hounds of the Baskervilles with Basil Rathbone in place of one of them!???? Or any of the Charlie Chan films, and Murder in the Rue Morgue with Bela Lugosi! Sorry, I’m a crime buff from a VERY young age! LOL
